What is Focus 2?

Focus 2 is an online, self-guided, interactive program designed to help you explore majors and careers.

Why should I take Focus 2?

Focus 2 can help you discover majors and careers that you did not even know existed. It can also help you learn more about majors and careers you are curious about. Focus 2 not only assists in major and career exploration, but it also creates a personalized portfolio that you can access and update throughout your time here at UL Lafayette.

What type of assessments will I take?

Along with career readiness questionnaires, you will take self-assessments based on your interests, values, skills and aspirations. You can even combine multiple assessments findings to create a more customized portfolio of potential majors and careers.

Will I have someone to help me navigate Focus 2?

Yes, a MCEC member will help assist you with questions or concerns you may have with navigation when you create a profile in the Career Lab in 104 Agnes Edwards Hall.

What do I do with the results?

Students are encouraged to schedule a follow up meeting with the Major & Career Exploration Center staff member by calling 337-482-1444 or emailing explore@louisiana.edu to go over what you learned from your results, clarify your major goals and start developing an individualized career plan.
